Three drug peddlers nabbed with 25g heroin, sharp edged weapon

JAMMU, Jan 19: Jammu Police today arrested three drug peddlers from two different locations and recovered 25 grams, one sharp edged weapon and an electronic weighing machine from their possession.
“A team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar while on naka duty rounded up two suspects namely Jatinder Singh alias Sonu son of Bhupinder Singh of Model Town (Digiana, Jammu) and Simranjeet Singh son of Gurcharan Singh of Digiana Camp (near Gurudwara) while they were coming on a vehicle bearing Registration Number JK02BU-2503 from main road Shamshan Ghat towards Shastri Nagar side,” a police spokesman said.
He said on search, 20 grams of heroin was recovered from the accused. “In this connection, a case under FIR Number 16/2023 U/S 8/21/22/25/29 NDPS Act, 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and the accused arrested,” he added.
Similarly, the spokesman said, while on patrolling duty near Batra Chowk area, a team of Police Post Sidhra rounded up a suspect identified as Faryad Ali son of Abdul Hamid of Palpad (Ragoora), who was on his way from Narwal towards Sidhra.
He said during search, 5 grams of heroin was recovered from possession of the accused. “In this regard, a case FIR Number 23/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Nagrota and the accused arrested,” the spokesman said, adding, further investigation into the case was going on.
