Guard Complex inaugurated

UDHAMPUR, July 31: Three courses–6 days IED Course, 5 days Cyber Forensics Course and 2 days seminar on Social Media in Indian Police culminated today at Police Academy here today.
Sixty-seven police officers and officials from all over the UT attended the training programmes.
Dr S.D Singh, ADGP, Director Police Academy Udhampur was the chief guest on valedictory function.
During his valedictory address, Dr SD Singh invariably expressed importance of knowing the characteristics and types of various explosives and constituents of IEDs which are the principle source of terror all over the world. Therefore, the law enforcing agencies have to be capable of investigating IED blast related cases.
Speaking on the importance of Cyber Crime, Dr Singh expressed that it is crime of today and tomorrow prevalent in the virtual space. The increased frequency of crimes in virtual space requires that we have to equip over selves to tackle this ever increasing menace. Whereas social media is another challenge while accessing to general public, use of social media is an important tool. However, its miss usage, by vested interests poses serious problems for the UT.
The certificates of participation were also given away by the Director Police Academy, Udhampur and his team.
The valedictory address was also attended by Mohan Lal, SSP Deputy Director (Indoor), Vinay Kumar, SSP, Deputy Director (Admn), KK Sharma, Assistant Director (Q), Zahid Saif Wani, Assistant Director (I) Sunmati Gupta, Assistant Director (Outdoor), Tahir Hussain, Assistant Director (Admn), Ramesh Chander Kataria, DySP, Private Secretary to Director Police Academy Udhampur and other faculty members of the Academy.
Meanwhile, Dr Singhalso inaugurated Guard Complex at new main gate of Police Academy in presence of Mohan Lal, SSP Deputy Director (Indoor/Training), Vijay Kumar, SSP, Deputy Director (Outdoor) and Vinay Kumar, SSP, Deputy Director (Administration) Police Academy.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jamwal said that the entry from the main gate started in the last year and the guard room which was under construction has been now completed and is dedicated to the concerned guard personnel who are deployed there for the security purpose.
Dr Singh also inspected the guard complex and imparted necessary directions for its maintenance and cleanliness of its peripheral area.
Suraj Singh, DySP, AD (Trg/R&D), Zahid Saif Wani, DySP, AD (Indoor/Intel), KK Sharma DySP, AD (Q), Ramesh Kataria DySP (S) Private Secretary to Director, Tahir Hussain, AD (Admn) and Ajay Dubey Coy Commander A Coy IRP 24th Battalion were also present on the occasion.
