Thousands pay obeisance in temples of Goddess Durga

JAMMU, Mar 31: Thousands of devotees visited various temples of Goddess Durga in Jammu and adjoining districts of Samba and Kathua on the first Navratra today.
According to reports over 16,000 devotees paid obeisance at Mata Maha Kali temple at Bawe near here.
There was heavy rush of the devotees in the temple from early in the morning and the devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged the shrine to perform darshan on the first day of Navratra and were seen waiting for their turn in long queues.
The entire temple complex was fully decorated and the rush of the devotees which started from early in the morning continued till late in the night.
The rush of the devotees also continued at Chechi Mata Temple in Samba district with 8000 devotees performing darshan at holy shrine.
Reports said that 5000 devotees performed darshan at holy shrine of Sukrala Mata, Billawar in Kathua district, while 2000 pilgrims paid obeisance at Mata Sundri at Nagri Parole also in Kathua district.
Reports said 7000 devotees, performed darshan at Kali Mata temple in Jasrota Kathua while 2000 devotees paid obeisance at Mata Sunderikote temple in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district.
However the devotees expressed concern over non availability of lodging and boarding arrangements at Sukrala Mata temple and said that the devotees were put to lot of problem due to lack of arrangements in this regard at the holy shrine.
