JAMMU, Aug 10: The ‘Sthapna Divas’ of Shri Shani Dev (Shila), a replica of the Shri Shani Dev Temple of Shingnapur, was celebrated today with grand rituals and religious ceremonies at Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
The Day’s events began at 8:30 AM with Shri Ganesh and Navgreh Pooja, followed by the Pooja of the beautifully installed ‘Trishuls’ and statues of elephants in the Shani Dev Temple. The ‘Abhishek’ and ‘Shringar’ of these sacred items were performed by the Trustees and special invitees, including Davinder Khawle and his family, under the guidance of renowned priests, with a large number of devotees in attendance.
The ceremonies culminated in a grand ‘Maha Aarti’ at 10:30 A.M. The entire Pooja was conducted with the association of Davinder Khawle and Samar Dev Singh Charak. Following the religious rituals, a massive Bhandara was organized for the general public, which saw participation from a large number of people until late in the evening.
Prominent devotees, Trustees and special invitees took part in this auspicious occasion, which was held under the patronage of Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and president of the Trust. ‘Shashtris’ addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of Shani Pooja.
Among those present at the ceremony were SC Rekhi (general secretary), PC Gupta, Prashant Sharma, Ved Verma, Jagjit Singh Jamwal, Krishan P Gupta, Kulbir Singh Chib, Tarun Gupta, Sandeep Singh, Ajay Pandoh, Indu Bhushan Sharma, Harish Malohtra, Prem Sharma, KB Magotra, Karan Singh, Ashok Khajuria, Brij Raj Singh, V K Abrol, Sumesh Damral and Pankul Vaid.
