Those behind Uri attack will not go unpunished: PM

NEW DELHI : Strongly condemning terrorist attack on an Army camp in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today warned that those behind the attack will not go unpunished.
“We strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished,” the Prime Minister said in series of tweets.
“We salute all those martyred in Uri. Their service to the nation will always be remembered. My thoughts are with the bereaved families,” he said.
The Prime Minister said he has asked Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar to go to Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of the situation.
“Have spoken to HM & RM on the situation. RM (Raksha Mantri) will go to J&K himself to take stock of the situation,” he said.
Mr Rajnath Singh has cancelled his visit to the US and Russia while Mr Parrikar is heading towards Srinagar.
Army Chief Dalbir Singh has already air dashed to Srinagar to take stock of the situation in the aftermath of ghastly terror attack that left 17 soldiers dead and scores injured. (AGENCIES)
