NEW DELHI: An estimated 61.76 percent voters cast their votes, on Tuesday, in the third phase of Lok Sabha elections for 117 seats spread across 12 states and two Union Territories.
Projected as the biggest, the third phase covers maximum Parliamentary constituencies in a single phase and more than 18.85 crore voters decided the fate of 1,640 candidates.
According to the available information from the Election Commission, Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir, which is voting in III, IV, V is the only constituency in the country to have polling in three phases. Anantnag witnessed a 12.86 percent polling till 1800 hours.
Chhattisgarh registered 64.69 percent, West Bengal 78.99 percent, Assam 74.05, Bihar 54.95, Goa 70.97, Gujarat 59.01, Karnataka 61.11, Kerala 69.48, Maharashtra 55.95, Odisha 58.18, Tripura 78.37, UP 56.57, Dadar and Nagar Haveli 71.43, Daman and Diu 65.34 percent. (AGENCIES)
