JAMMU, Jan 8: Akhnoor police today arrested a burglar and recovered stolen donation box and cash from his possession.
A police spokesman said that, on January 6, Pardhan of Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Sohal, tehsil Akhnoor, Dharamveer Singh, son of Mangal Singh, resident of same village lodged a complaint with Police Station Akhnoor that some thieves barged into the Gurudwara and decamped with donation box along with cash.
In this regard, a case under FIR number 3/14 under Section 454 and 380 RPC was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, police party from Akhnoor Police Station led by SHO Pardeep Sharma conducted raid at the residence of Gurjeet Singh alias Sonu, son of Avtar Singh of Sohal, tehsil Akhnoor and recovered donation box along with Rs 2000 cash.
The accused was arrested and further investigation into the case is going on.
