JAMMU, Aug 18: Sarwal police arrested a thief along with stolen gold ornaments and Rs 22,820 cash.
As per police sources, a compliant was lodged by Kanya Lal, son of Sri Dhar, Block 19-A, Government quarters, Toph Sherkhani that some unidentified thieves barged into his house and decamped with gold ornaments and Rs 22,820 cash.
Accordingly a case under relevant sections was registered at Sarwal Police Post and investigation started.
A police team led by Incharge Police Post Sarwal Vijay Thakur succeeded in arresting the thief, who has been identified as Wasim, son of Ali Mohammad, a resident of Kupwara.
On his disclosure, the stolen gold ornaments and Rs 22,820 cash were also recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
