JAMMU, July 30: Sarwal police arrested a thief and recovered stolen laptop from his possession within 24 hours.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by Lovish Kapoor, son of Vijay Kapoor, a resident of Rehari Colony with Police Post Satwari stating that some unidentified person(s) have stolen his laptop from his house.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 97/18 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and hunt was launched to nab the accused.
During the course of investigation, police picked up several suspects for questioning and finally arrested the thief, who has been identified as Hunny Chopra, son of Kamal Chopra, a resident of Rehari Colony Jammu.
On his disclosure, the stolen laptop was recovered.
Further questioning of the accused may lead to his involvement in other theft cases.
