Thief arrested with stolen gold ornaments

JAMMU, Oct 22: Nowabad police arrested a thief and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 1.10 lakh from his possession.
As per police sources, in order to work out the theft and burglary cases of Jammu City North Zone, a special team headed by SHO Police Station Nowabad Inspector Bimal Indu was constituted by the SP City North Jammu Amritpal Singh.
The team during investigation rounded up number of suspects and developed leads. Based on the leads, the team arrested a thief involved in a case registered under FIR Number 143/19 under section 454 and 380 RPC with Police Station Nowabad.
The arrested thief has been identified as Sahil Dogra, son of Gharu Ram of Bakshi Nagar, District Jammu.
On his disclosure, 1 gold bangle (Kada) and 2 gold rings valuing Rs 1.10 lakh were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases.
