Thief arrested, stolen mobiles recovered

JAMMU, Aug 12: Bus Stand police under “Operation Meghdoot” arrested a thief and recovered 11 stolen mobile phones from his possession.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged in March 23 this year by Shgaffah Aziz, daughter of Abdul Aziz of Shanpora district Srinagar with police station Bus Stand stating that one unknown person snatched her two mobile phones.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 27/17 under Section 382 RPC was registered at police station Bus Stand and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up and strenuous efforts were made to recover the snatched mobile phones. Today one suspect Vicky Rajput, son of Des Raj of Gandoh, district Doda, at present Jammu during questioning revealed that he had snatched the mobile phone from the girl.
On further interrogation he admitted his involvement in more such type of cases and on his disclosure 11 snatched and stolen mobile phones have been recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bus Stand Inspector Ravi Kant made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City Varun Jandial and SP City Dr Vinod Kumar.
