JAMMU, Feb 7: Bishnah police arrested a thief within 24 hours and recovered stolen items from his possession.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by Manit Singh, son of Jagdish Singh of Jeevan Nagar with police station Bishnah stating that some unknown persons has broken the glasses of his car bearing registration number JK02AR 1181 parked at a banquet hall at Sarore and decamped with one gold ring, Rs 5000 cash, mobile phone, some clothes and ladies purse.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 33/17 under Section 380 RPC was registered at police station Bishnah and manhunt was launched to nab the thieves.
During the course of investigation, one suspect namely Sandeep Singh alias Ankush, son of Karan Singh of Sarore Tehsil Bishnah was detained for questioning and during questioning he confessed to commit the theft. On his disclosure, all the stolen items were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain his identity in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Bishnah Inspector Paramjit Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Choudhary and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
