REASI, July 5: In a major theft, burglars struck a house at Ward number 13, Roop Nagar, Reasi and decamped with valuable items worth lakhs of rupees.
The theft took place in the house of Lal Singh, a retired Agriculture officer, who along with other family members had gone to Shajroo for paying obeisance at a religious place.
The matter came into light this evening when younger brother of Lal Singh reached home and found the locks of almirah broken.
On being informed, a Police party from Reasi Police Station reached the spot and registered a case for further investigation.
Even as exact value and amount of stolen items were yet to be ascertained, sources said that this is one of the biggest theft cases in the town.
