Theft cases worked out within hours

KATRA, Feb 23: Katra Police today worked two different cases of theft within five hours since reporting of the matter and arrested both the accused besides affecting recovery of the stolen items.
While one theft had taken place at the horse shed of one Munshi Mohd, son of Mohd Saleem of village Kotli Mangotarian and thieves had stolen two horse saddles of worth Rs 50000 while another complaint was lodged by Ganesh Dass Sharma son of Madan Lal Sharma of Chowki Chaura Akhnoor, whose shop at Ban Ganga was burgled. The thieves had stolen his ATM card and transacted an amount of Rs 40,000. Both the complaints were registered at Police Station.
Acting swiftly, Police team of PP Banganga, headed by SI Ajay Kumar Engotra, analysed the CCTV footage in the area around the place of occurrence and finally cracked both the cases within five hours and arrested the accused persons namely Mohd Saleem son of Abdul Rashid of village Anji Khalaya, District Reasi and Pankaj Sharma son of Varinder Kumar of Nomain, Katra. The stolen horse saddles and cash of Rs 40,000 were recovered from the accused.
