REASI, Feb 8: Police worked out a theft case within 24 hours and recovered the stolen property besides arresting the accused.
The theft of construction equipments worth Rs 1.5 lakh had taken place under the jurisdiction of Police Station Arnas and a case FIR number 10/2024, under section 379 IPC was registered in this connection.
On the instructions of SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma, a special team, led by SHO Arnas, Inspector Jeet Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Arnas Mohd Irfan Khan was constituted to work out the theft case.
During investigation, several suspects were rounded up and after sustained questioning, one Kulbir Singh confessed to have committed the crime. On his disclosure, stolen property was also recovered.
Police is further investigating to unearth linkages of the accused with other theft cases in district Reasi and more arrests as well as recoveries are not ruled out.
