JAMMU, Nov 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Police have cracked a theft case reported from Pooja Colony, Lower Thather, within days of reporting of the crime.
Police said the accused in the incident had broken into a house by damaging the door lock and escaped with cash and gold ornaments.
They said after registration of an FIR number 224/2025 under the relevant sections of the law registered at Police Station Domana, investigation was immediately launched, with a team from Police Post Chinnore examining the crime scene and checking the CCTV footage from nearby areas to trace the movement of the suspects.
During investigation, the team led by PSI Arjun Singh, incharge Police Post Chinnore, assisted by PSI Tahir Shabir under the supervision of SHO Domana Varuneshwar Singh and SDPO Domana, identified and arrested two accused persons—Raj Karan of Nardani, Ban Tallab, and Bhader Ali of Keran, Ban Tallab, police said.
On interrogation, they said, Bhader Ali confessed to the crime and led to the recovery of Rs 1.10 lakh in cash and two gold earrings.
Accordingly, the goldsmith, Rajinder Kumar Puri of Paloura, was also arrested for receiving the stolen property, they said.
Pertinently, the entire operation was carried out under the supervision of SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma.
This marks the second theft case solved by Police Post Chinnore within a week, showcasing the prompt action and efficiency of Jammu and Kashmir Police in maintaining law and order.
