JAMMU, Sep 20: Nowabad Police today claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen items from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that on 7-09-2022, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Canal Road by a man namely Prem Joshi pertaining to stolen of Rs 40,000 from his room at Canal Head, Jammu, following which a case FIR Number 109/2022 U/S 454/380/201 IPC was registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started.
After this, he said dedicated police teams were constituted under SHO Nowaabd, Inspector Vijay Sharma assisted by PSI Amreek Singh. The team rounded up a number of suspects and one of the suspects namely Bilal Ahmed Dar son of Bashir Ahmed Dar, resident of Noorbagh Kamarwari (Kashmir) confessed his involvement in the case. The stolen cash of Rs 35000, a ring, chain and a bangle (Gold) were recovered from him upon his disclosure.
The arrest and recovery was done under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Jammu Swati Sharma.
Further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain his involvement in other crimes.
