Tension in RS Pura College, 2 held

JAMMU, Dec 6: Situation became tense in RS Pura degree college this morning when a group of students damaged office of the Principal, computer lab and broke the window pains of a car parked inside the college premises.
SDPO RS Pura Diwakar Singh said a group of students including Rahul Sharma, son of Parshotam Lal, a resident of village Mukha and Deepak Kumar son of Kuldeep Raj R/o Palley accompanied by other activists of a student association damaged Principal office, LCD and computers in the Computer Lab and also broke the window pains including rear and front mirror of a car bearing registration number JKO2AB-3202 belonging to Prof Jagjit Singh.
On getting information, police party from RS Pura police station rushed to the spot and arrested two students Rahul Sharma and Deepak Kumar, while their associates managed to flee from the college, Mr Singh added.
Deepak Sharma is president of the college and also leader of Progressive Students Association (PSA), he said, adding, that Rahul Sharma and Deepak Sharma were booked under Section 452/ 427/ 504/ 506, 4/25 Arms Act registered at police station RS Pura.
Reports said that Principal of the College has rusticated the duo along with another student namely Param Kumar son of Garib Dass of Ban-Sultan, Miran Sahib.
A manhunt was also launched to arrested other students and outsiders, who were allegedly involved in vandalism, reports said.
Reports said the students alleged that Jagjit Singh, Professor Chemistry was allegedly harassing the female students. However, police said, their allegation proved fabricated after the full-fledged enquiry.
