Ten injured in clashes

SRINAGAR, July 26: At least 10 persons were injured today when residents of two villages clashed over a ragging issue in Pulwama district.
Station House Officer Pulwama, Sabzar Ahmad said that dozens of persons from Wautmulla and Gaberpora villages clashed with each other this afternoon after some students from one village had done ragging of other students in Higher Secondary School, Hall.
“The villagers had an argument with each other as some students claimed they were humiliated when a group of other students did their ragging on the school. The argument intensified and subsequently there were clashes between them,” the SHO said.
Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Pulwama, Dr. Saleem said that they received 10 injured persons from the two villages. Among them, three were critical and they were referred to Bones and Joints Hospital and SKIMS, Srinagar.
