Ten bovines rescued, 2 held

JAMMU, June 24: Continuing drive against bovine animals, Batote police today arrested two persons along with ten bovine animals.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Batote police station laid a surprised naka and intercepted two Tata mobiles bearing registration numbers JK20-1447 and JK02AN-1265.
During checking, police rescued 10 bovine animals, which the drivers of the vehicles were smuggling towards Srinagar from Jammu.
The smugglers have been identified as Mohammad Sultan, son of Ghulam Nabi of district Reasi and Muzaffar Mir, son of Ghulam Hussan Mir of Kukarnag, Srinagar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Batote police station and investigation started.
Police team headed by SHO Mohammad Iqbal made the arrest under the supervision of SP Ramban Javed Iqbal Mattoo.
