Tehsildar Pargwal designated as UN SDG Ambassador

JAMMU, Dec 12: Ambassadors of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Network appointed Imtiaz Ahmed as Ambassador for UN SDGs programme from India.
Imtiaz is presently serving as Tehsildar in Revenue Department.
He is designated as Ambassador in recognition to various initiatives taken by him in order to promote Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified by United Nations.
UN Ambassadors are appointed aiming to further strengthen the efforts of various individuals, volunteers and NGOs across the globe.
In continuation to these global efforts, an initiative is taken by Tehsil administration of Pargwal to promote these UN Sustainable Development particularly laying stress on UN SDG goals to achieve no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, climate change, life on land and peace, justice and strong institutions.
Under this unique initiative ‘Mera Gaon’ programme is envisaged where volunteers are drawn from different areas and fields are working unitedly.
These SDG volunteers are working as Youth Ambassadors with vision to achieve targets assigned under SDG goals using diverse tools and methodology. On lines of efforts and vision of NITI Ayoug efforts are being taken to ensure 100 per cent saturation of various government schemes in correlation with UN goals like Beti Padhao Beti Bachao programme, Ayushmaan Bharat Scheme, Fit India Movement, Digital India, Start up program, Make in India Program, Atamnirbar Program, Khelo India Program, Sawach Bharat Mission, Housing for All Scheme, Environment Conservation and Natural Resource Management etc. The Youth Ambassadors are volunteering their services and spreading messages of awareness to every household to assess their needs and getting desired results with intervention of Government and Non Governments Schemes.
