JAMMU, Sept 5: Amit Sharma, Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs here today addressed a gathering of Assistant Professors (College faculty) on Teachers Day who are attending an important course while representing various states like West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and J&K at P.G Department of Home Science (Human Development) in collaboration with Human Resource Development Centre, University of Jammu.
This is a four-week General Orientation Course for University and College teachers starting tomorrow wherein Prof. Shashi Manhas is the Course Co-ordinator.
Amit, being an expert on e-Governance, talked about introduction of technological transformations to overhaul the education system. He said that young teachers can take the lead for improvisation and set an example for young ignited minds to channelize their energies in right, positive and constructive directions.
The Director mentioned several contemporary examples and mentioned that youth must be motivated to go for real westernization by imbibing their true values and culture rather than becoming a slave of their negatives which has been termed as Westoxication by a renowned socialist Deepankar Gupta in his book Mistaken Modernity.
