JAMMU, May 24: Demanding immediate release of pending salary of regularized and un-regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers, Education Volunteers, R-e-Ts appointed under KGBVs, Seasonal Teachers, Head Teachers under SSA and Masters under RMSA, members of Teachers Guild Jammu & Kashmir today held an urgent meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Nasir Ahmed Qurashi, State president of Teachers Guild and attended by members from various zones. Detailed deliberations were held on the burning issue of teachers under SSA and RMSA, who are performing their duties with dedications and devotions but are without pay from many months.
Nasir Ahmed Qurashi, in his presidential address, suggested the Government strategies to overcome the problem once for all. “Firstly amount exceeding the salary of Head Teachers i.e. except Rs 27160 be met out of District Plan and in future the Head Teachers be engaged on contract basis only and not through DPC. Similarly in case of Head Masters, the excess amount may be met out of District Plan. Secondly regarding salary of ReTs and RReTs, the State share be released in advance on one time basis during the year and online UCs be submitted through DDOs,” he explained.
He said that the grants received recently from the Ministry of Human Resource Development are not sufficient to meet out the pending salaries of last five-six months and Government failed to pursue and procure the required budgetary allocation for the same. He appealed to the Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar for his straightway attention in the matter and arrangements of grants for release of pending salaries of ReT Teachers.
General secretary of Teachers Guild, Mohan S Choudhary and Mohd Farooq Faraz Qurashi (Advisor Legal Cell of Teachers Guild), also addressed the meet.
Others, who spoke, included Narayan Baru, Mohd Majeed, Jai Karan, Balbir Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Parveen Akhter, Om Parkash, Vijay Kumar Gupta, Tirth Singh, Kuljeet Harjeet Singh, Upasna Kumari, Asha Kumari and Manjeet Singh.
