Teachers Federation highlights demands

JAMMU, Apr 10: A meeting of the All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teacher’s Federation was held here today under the chairmanship of Balwan Singh Jamwal, State president of the Federation, to discuss the burning issues and demands of the teaching community.
The meet demanded immediate implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations in respect of teachers, employers and pensioners with effect from January 1, 2016, enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 2000, immediate release of salary of various categories of the teachers on last day of the month, suitable adjustment of surplus Masters against the permanent posts, filling up of all vacant post of teaching and non-teaching staff in the educational institutions, provision of Safai Karamcharis in every educational institutions along with provision of clean drinking water, cook for preparing mid-day meal, suitable adjustment of newly promoted Masters, cash-in-lieu to the teachers like other State employees, Senior Teacher grade to the Undergraduate teachers, regularization of all cadres of School Education Department, etc.
While addressing the meeting, Balwan Singh Jamwal strongly castigated the State Government for its failure in timely release of salaries of the teaching staff working in the Education institutions of the State, particularly in respect of NPS/SSA/RMSA Category.
Prominent among those, who addressed the meeting, included Joginder Singh Manhas, (working president), Manga Ram Sharma, Sudarshan Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Chaman Lal Sharma, Tara Chand, Shamsher Singh, Mohan Lal Sharma, Sanjiwan Singh Jamwal, Naresh Chowdhary, Yasin Ahmed, Rakesh Kalgotra, Jagdeep Singh, Sandal Singh, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Naresh Kumar, Satish Kumar Sharma, Dinesh Singh Jamwal, Jyoti Parkash Sharma, Naresh Pal Sharma and Narinder Kumar.
