JAMMU, Mar 7: A day-long session of the All Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation was held today at Kot Bhalwal to discuss the burning issues of the teaching community.
The session, under the chairmanship of Balwan Singh Jamwal, was attended by a large number of lecturers from Zone Bhalwal and adjoining zones of Jammu district.
After threadbare discussion, the federation members expressed their resentment over alleged failure of the Government in resolving the just and genuine demands of the teaching community inspite of repeated requests and reminders.
They also highlighted the demands, which include; immediate release of pending salary of SSA/RMSA/NPS and Mid Day Meal grants, filling of all vacant posts in School Education Department, cash in-lieu to the teachers at the time of their retirement at par with other State Government employees, Senior Teachers grade to the undergraduate teachers, immediate adjustment of the promoted lecturers in different streams, repatriation of Masters working outside their home district, regularization of all cadres of School Education at the time of their promotion, timely distribution of books to the students at the start of the session, etc.
Prominent among the central executive body members, who participated in the session, included Joginder Singh Manhas, Sudershan Sharma, Shamsher Singh, Inderjeet Gupta, Tara Chand, Jagdeep Singh, Sanjeevan Singh, Naresh Choudhary, Mohan Lal Sharma, and Ajay Sharma.
On the occasion, Bhalwal Zone unit of the JKLTF was constituted with Ram Krishan as vice-president, Yoth Parkash as general secretary and Sunil Abrol as secretary.
