JAMMU, Apr 15: A deputation of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation called on Education Minister Naeem Akhtar at his official residence and discussed with him some burning issues of the School Education Department.
The deputation, led by Maheshwar Prasad, Mir Mohd Iqbal and Dharminder Singh drew attention of the minister towards recently ordered transfers of Teachers and Masters before the scheduled Transfer Mela for Summer zone in June 2016. The Federation alleged that the so called Transfer Mela in winter zone of Jammu province remained flop show and only those Masters and Teachers were transferred who have monetary or political approach.
The Federation also highlighted some other issues and demands, which included; regular salary to Masters working under SSA/ RMSA, relieving the Masters from other than academic duties, fresh DPC of Masters after canceling previous list of promotion, promotion of Class IV employees in regular interval, election of Headmasters and Principals by PSC for better standard in schools.
The Federation expressed concern over delay in supplying books to Government schools and demanded that posts of Joint Director should not be given to KAS cadre.
The Minister assured to look into all these demands for positive consideration and also said that necessary instructions in this regard would be issued to Chairman BOSE, DSEJ and Commissioner Secretary School Education.
The deputation comprised of Ravinder Verma, Jeeva Kant, Anil Sharma, Dev Raj Thakur, Sham Lal Sharma, Parshotam Kumar, Mohan Singh, Shiv Dev Singh, Krishan Gupta, Manjeet Singh and others.
