Teachers apprise Director School Education of demands

JAMMU, Feb 6: A deputation of All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation called on Director School Education, Jammu Dev Lata and apprised her of the long pending demands of teachers.
The deputation, led by the Federation president Balwan Singh Jamwal, demanded strict adherence of transfer policy, filling up of vacant posts of teachers, masters, lecturers and non-teaching staff in the educational institutions, leave encashment, senior teacher grade to trained under graduate teachers, timely release of SSA grants, restoration of muffassil allowance for the employees working in rural areas, enhancement of the honorarium of ReTs and inclusion of the ReT period in the service record.
The deputation also urged that the teachers should be exempted from extra academic duties so that studies of students may not suffer and supply of syllabus as well as books should also be ensured in beginning of the academic year for better results.
The Director gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to take up all the issues with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
Mr Jamwal also assured all co-operation of the Federation in streamlining the Education system for betterment of students.
The deputation comprised of Joginder Singh Manhas, Manga Ram Sharma, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Subash Chander Sharma, Inderjeet Gupta, Som Nath Banathia, Sudershan Sharma, Naresh Chowdhary, Daljeet Singh Bhau, Satvir Singh, Mohd Shabir, Suresh Sharma, Mohd Khalid, Pawan Kumar Gupta, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Jeet Singh, Shamsher Singh, Satya Bhushan, Tara Chand, Ravi Chander, Ravi Chander, Sanjivan Singh, Fazal Sheikh, Jyoti Parkash, Dinesh Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Narijin Sharma, Mohan Lal, Yaseen Ahmed, Kuldeep Singh, Ayub Khan, Rajinder Sharma, Manjeet Singh and others.
