NEW DELHI, July 28: Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha, Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence, senior journalist, author and public activist, Tarun Vijay today submitted to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh a written proposal for settling retired defence personnel in the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
Tarun Vijay urged  Dr Jitendra Singh to push for having soldiers settled in Kashmir valley to create an atmosphere of safety and development. He proposed that Jawans settling in Jammu Kashmir be given all help to establish industry and trade centres so that youngsters from valley get better employment and a process of wealth creation is accelerated in the State. He asked Dr Jitendra Singh that since he belongs to the state, he must push this matter vigorously with the  Government.
He also requested that the State and Centre should give 25 year tax holiday to such soldiers to initiate an industry or any enterprise creating wealth for the state and providing employment to the State’s youth.
Tarun Vijay further noted that the violence and terrorism ravaged State of Jammu & Kashmir needs a healing touch of development, growth and all-inclusiveness. The retired army jawans settled there could be helped to start industry or enterprise so that they could create not only wealth for the State but also employment for the local youth. This, according to him, would be the best solution to address all the vital sectors of Jammu & Kashmir State’s bright future, he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh appreciated Tarun Vijay’s concern for Jammu & Kashmir and said that he would put up his proposal for examination at appropriate level.
