SRINAGAR, May 13: Advising PDP led coalition Government to come out of administrative inertia, CPI (M) senior leader and MLA Kulgam, Mohd Yousuf Tarigami, has urged Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to come up to expectations of the people and live up to his promises made prior to recent elections.
In a statement issued here, Tarigami said tall claims are in no way any solution to the mounting problems of basic amenities faced by the people across the State and if the Government wants to mitigate sufferings of the people, it should start translating its promises into action on ground.
“The situation on the ground seems no way different than it was earlier rather it has further deteriorated. The state of affairs of the people particularly the flood victims continues to be murky as far as the delivery of the new Government is concerned,” Tarigami said while urging the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to make his Government visible on the ground.
The CPI (M) senior leader remarked that the much-needed rehabilitation of flood hit people seems to have been deleted from the priorities of the Government and same is the case with other sectors of socio-economic development of the State.
Stressing on the need for an early rehabilitation of the flood-hit and restoration of the damaged infrastructure in the State, the MLA Kulgam said the State Government must pursue the proposal mooted by the previous Government vigorously and push for an early mobilization of funds from the Centre for rehabilitation and infrastructure building in the State.
“There is no doubt that the performance of this Government cannot be judged within few months but its dismal beginning demands that the Government must reignite itself to live up to the huge expectations and promises it has made with the people,” the CPI (M) leader opined.
