JAMMU, Jan 31: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior Congress leader, Tara Chand today criticized the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for compromising with its core issues including abrogation of Article 370.
In a statement issued here, Tara Chand said that it is not hidden from anyone that over the years abrogation of Article 370 from J&K remained one of the core issues of the BJP but despite getting two-third majority at centre and 25 seats in J&K, BJP failed to abolish Article 370.
He said that BJP and its top leadership should clear stand on the issue of Article 370 and explain to the people of Jammu region, where from they had got maximum seats in Assembly polls, that what is restraining them from abolishing Article 370.
The senior Congress leader further asked BJP leadership to clear their stand on State Subject Rights to West Pakistan refugees, which they had promised them before Assembly polls.
The former Deputy CM also criticized the PDP-BJP coalition Government in the State for not following the case of reservation in promotion to SC/ST/OBCs properly in the Court due to which SC/ST/OBC people are suffering badly in J&K while the people of these communities are enjoying the benefit of reservation in promotion in other states.
Flaying the PDP-BJP Government for ignoring the newly constructed Administration units, Tara Chand said that due to apathy of the present Government which failed to appoint staff in the newly constructed administration units, people have been suffering badly.
