SAMBA, June 11: Union Minister of State for Textiles Ajay Tamta, Minister for Industries & Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga and Member Parliament, Jugal Kishore Sharma today inaugurated Modi Fest at Sarore Adda in Vijaypur, Samba and highlighted the welfare programs and schemes launched by the Narendra Modi led Government at the Centre.
While addressing the gathering, the Union Minister stressed on effective implementation of the welfare schemes that focus on empowerment of women, raising the living standards of the poor and providing employment opportunities to the local youth.
While addressing the gathering Chander Parkash Ganga asked the people to come forward and take the benefit of State and centrally sponsored welfare schemes and asked the concerned to create mass awareness about Ladli Beti, State Marriage Assistance Scheme, Ujjwala Yojana, AASRA and other financial assistance schemes.
On his address MP Jugal Kishore Sharma asked the people to take maximum benefit of state and centrally sponsored schemes.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Textiles Ajay Tamta, Minister for Industries & Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga and Member Parliament, Jammu-Poonch constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma today visited Export Oriented Handloom Development Project at Samba and inspected the activities undertaken by J&K State Handloom Development Corporation (JKHDC) in the project.
They inspected the Weaving Section, Processing House, Stores & Testing laboratories of the project and appreciated the quality of products being manufactured by the Corporation.
Meanwhile, Union Minister stressed on encouraging more handloom products in decentralized sector by proving the handlooms to the artisans in the surrounding areas. He also assured full assistance to the State from the Centre by sanctioning more projects in the Handloom Sector.
Ganga impressed upon the Corporation to promote the sales of handloom items by attracting the private entrepreneurs for marketing of finished items. He also directed for exploring the possibilities to establish a Cluster at Samba for upliftment of weavers and women folk.
Managing Director, JKHDC Rakesh Sharma gave an overview of the achievements of the Corporation in the field of production, finishing, printing and stitching of fabrics.
