REASI, Apr 17: Demanding polling station for them at the camp, Talwara migrants protested against the district administration, which, they claimed, had assured to provide them transportation for costing vote at their natives places.
The protesting migrants, including females, held a strong protest demonstration and raised slogans against the District administration as well as the Election authorities. They claimed that the District administration had to provide transport facilities this morning for taking them to their native places to cast vote but the same was not done.

They were also demanding establishment of Polling Station for them at Talwara camp so that migrants could exercise their democratic right without any hassle.
“We have been waiting here since 5 am in the morning but no transport was made available by the administration, which had assured for the same,” said Jagdev Singh, president of the Talwara Migrant Association.
However, Dy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Chib said that no such assurance on providing transport to the migrants was given as there has been no such provision for the same. “A few days back, some migrants had approached me demanding Polling Station for them at Talwara and I had made it clear that it was not possible at that stage since all arrangements were finalized,” she added and reiterated that there was no provision on providing transport by the administration to these migrants for casting vote.
