SRINAGAR, Dec 1 : People’s Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today said the participation of regional mainstream political parties in the elections was a must to avoid being labeled as Pakistani agents.
Mehbooba expressed displeasure for being labelled as Pakistani agent, saying her late father and PDP founder, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed faced social boycott for hoisting tri-colour in Jammu and Kashmir.
She said BJP is anti-national party who worship Mahatma Gandhi’s murderer; Nathuram Godse. “The party needs not to teach lessons on nationalism. I am a nationalist who doesn’t need a certificate from anti-national forces”, she added.
The PDP president said the present dispensation at Centre wants to label every Kashmiri as terrorist and Pakistani to gain brawny points. She said participation of regional mainstream political parties in ongoing DDC election was necessary to avoid being labelled as Pakistani agents
”Our participation in the ongoing DDC election was must to avoid being labelled as Pakistani agents. My late father, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed faced social boycott for raising tricolour in Kashmir and I am being labelled as anti-national. I am a nationalist by heart and don’t need any certificate from anti-national forces,” Mehbooba told reporters here.
The PDP president also said that BJP will never succeed in its nefarious designs of dividing the nation on communal lines and this strategy of the saffron party will bring nothing other than ‘humiliation’ for it.
Mehbooba also said that BJP has never treated Kashmiri people as family members; the way people of other states are treated, saying their aim is to destroy Kashmir from the core.
“They have never treated Kashmiri people as family members. Their sole purpose is to destroy Kashmir. I don’t know what results BJP’s hatred towards people of Kashmir yields,” she added.
