JAMMU, May 28: Action Committee (Development Charges) of Nanak Nagar (Jammu) has appealed the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to pass directions to Municipal authorities to take up the long pending work of drainage system in the area.
The members of the Committee alleged that due to defective drainage system in lane number 11 and 12 of Sector number 6, Ward number 43 (Nanak Nagar), the rain water enters into the houses of lane number 12 being low lying area. They said central drain of lane number 11 and 12 need to be widened to accommodate the water of other lanes.
They said the issue was taken up time and again with Municipal authorities but they always voided the same citing paucity of adequate funds. The committee appealed the LG to direct the authorities of Municipal Corporation Jammu to attend the left over work of drainage system in the area before the start of rainy season.
