New Delhi, Feb 7 : Encouraged by the new investment
friendly climate and initiatives like Digital India,
Taiwan-based electronic chip designer Media Tek expressed
its interest in expanding presence in the country.
While meeting with Communication and IT Minister Ravi
Shankar Prasad, Chairman of Media Tek, M K Tsai shared his
commitment to make technology more accessible for people.
Initiatives like ‘Make in India’ and Smart Cities coupled
with liberalisation of defence manufacturing has created a
great demand for technology solutions and hardware in the
country, Mr Prasad said.
Young population, economical workforce and business-
friendly government has made India a great investment
destination, he added.
The Minister also shared the government’s vision to
create more IT hubs in small towns and rural areas which
would propel the growth and bring prosperity to the lesser
developed parts of the country.
