T Y Shah, Saterseran villagers demand compensation for land

JAMMU, June 24: The villagers of T Y Shah and Saterseran in Wagoora block of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district raised their various demands before the visiting Special Secretary, PDD, Manoj Kumar Pandit to the village today.
The residents expressed concern over non availability of teachers in mobile schools of Gujjar Basti and in pastures. They demanded that the teachers be posted in these schools immediately so that the children of nomads do not suffer.
The people also demanded compensation of land provided by them to different departments for construction work.
The residents informed Special Secretary that a bridge at Shranzfall was constructed for light vehicles only but is being used by heavy and other vehicles and this continues the bridge may collapse at any time creating problems for the people of the area.
The people also demanded construction of bunds to protect the land erosion, upgradation of link roads, construction of drains, issuance of BPL cards to deserving people, providing of HT/LT poles and solar lights in the Panchayat of Bandiballa in block Wagoora of Baramulla district
The special secretary while listening the problems of the villagers gave instructions to local officers accompanying him to take immediate steps in settling those issues which fall under the competence.
He also wanted to know the reasons why the compensation for the land taken by the different departments was not paid and stressed the education authorities of the district to post teachers for mobile schools. Pandit is on the tour of this far flung area in connection to back to village programme of Government.
