JAMMU, Feb 14: A Symposium on the topic ‘Save the Girl Child’ was organized by Block Medical Officer Darhal, Dr Iqbal Malik in collaboration with Govt Girls Hr. Sec. School Darhal in which a galaxy of students of different institutions participated.
On the occasion, Vakeel Ahmed Tehsildar Darhal was the chief guest while Abdul Qayoom Mir Principal Shere Kashmir Higher Secondary School Darhal was the guest of honour and Mohd Bashir, Principal, Govt Girls Higher Secondary School presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, threw light on the topics of female foeticide and PC-PNDT Act etc.
Cash prize of Rs 1500, 1200 and1000 respectively were presented to the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while 1st prize was awarded to Ashina Mahtab of Darhal Public School Darhal, second to Sayra Iram and 3rd prize was given to Mehrun Nissa.
