JAMMU, Feb 1: Literary Club of Government College for Women (GCW) Parade in collaboration with ‘The Cultural Wing’ of Department of Information & Public Relations organised a symposium on the topic ‘Cultural Practices for Sustainable Environment’.
The chief guest and patron of the event was Dr. S.P Sarswat, Principal GCW Parade along with Parul Khajuria, Cultural Officer.
Other members of Information Department who graced the event were Vijay Anand, Drama Instructor and Suresh Sharma.
The welcome address was given by Mavi Sapolia, student member of the Literary Committee.
The event was inaugurated by Suresh Sharma, Cultural Wing of Information Department, Jammu.
Dr. S.P Saraswat extended best wishes to all the participants.
Judges at the event were Dr. Ritu Magotra, HOD English Department; Dr. Anju Bala, Associate Professor and Prof. Renu Angurana, Associate Professor.
Navya Shrivatsa of semester-V bagged first position, while second position was bagged by Anmol of semester-I and third position was bagged by Khushi of semester-V.
The event was conducted by Convenor Literary Committee, Dr. Shalini Sharma and Co-Convenor, Dr. Sonia Khajuria and it was managed by organising committee comprising Prof. Archana Dubey, Dr. Mamta Sharma, Dr. Shivani Manchanda, Prof. Shortika Rajput and others.
Artists from Information Department mesmerised the audience with their performances.
The programme was conducted by students-Khushi, president GCW Parade and Khushi Zutshi, vice president while vote of thanks was given by Mavi Sapolia.
