JAMMU, Mar 9: All J&K Sheep & Wool Workers’ Association (SWWA) discussed their demands in a meeting of the association held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Badyal, president of the association.
The main demands which were discussed and decided to put forth to the Director, Sheep Husbandry Jammu as well as to the Government include two and half days extra pay for the employees working round the clock in the department, providing better living conditions in various Sheep Farms and withdrawal of Government order regarding time bound promotion.
Besides, other demands like ownership rights of Government rams issued to the breeders on permanent basis after getting 50% cost of ram to avoid inbreeding and minimize the mortality rate in Government livestock, holding of DPC, filling up of all vacant posts in the department, three years period for the next promotion instead of five years and stoppage of undue recoveries from the staff also figured in the meeting.
On the occasion, all the members unanimously elected Sandeep Manhas and Mohd Arif as vice presidents, and Varun Padha as chief organizer. Earlier, 70 newly appointed employees of Sheep Husbandry Department (Stock Assistants) hailing from various districts of Jammu province joined the association in the presence of members of Central body.
