POONCH, Jan 7: Pensioners of various categories including handicapped, old age and widows have rued official apathy for not releasing their pensioner dues for the last several months putting them to hardships.
In Mendhar Sub Division, sources said the pensioners of various categories have been running from pillar to post for release of pension which has not been released for the last several months by the officials of the Social Welfare Department for the reason best known to them.
Pensioners in a joint appeal have urged the higher authorities in the Social Welfare Department and District authorities to release their dues before the Eid and Lohri festival as they have been going through constant financial crisis and mainly depend on this social security.
