JAMMU, Aug 7: The Union Ministry of Home Affairs today confirmed the appointment of RR Swain as Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir.

Swain, an IPS officer of 1991 batch was holding additional charge of the post of DGP J&K.
“Swain has been appointed to the post of DGP J&K with effect from the date of assumption of charge and till September 9, 2024 or until further orders whichever is earlier,’’ an MHA order said.
