Swachh Bharat

Sir,
“Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.  How does it matter if we throw the garbage in a dustbin rather than in a drain or on road? How does it matter if we use paper or cloth bags instead of plastic ? How does it matter if we use toilets instead of urinating on the roadside ?
We definitely talk about the system, criticize the Government. We all say that we want a ‘change’ in India. But what do we do to bring that ‘change’? What can we do ? Do we have a solution? Yes. We have two options. As usual, one of them is easy and the other requires a bit of doing.
Option 1: We continue bitching about the present scenario.
Option 2: We stop bitching and step out ourselves.
It just requires an initiative and the will to change. A society’s awareness can be very effective. We talk about the lack of public bins. Can’t a society contribute for one ? Nothing is possible until we take an initiative without expecting from others and being the change we want to see. I’ve been through people who defend themselves by saying, “it’s  not our fault its just the Indian mindset’. Is that really so ? Have you ever seen an Indian littering or spitting on the roadside in a foreign country like US, England or China ? No.
Its we who are making our land dirty and expecting others to clean it. It’s not  the duty only of the cleaners or the sweepers to keep this country clean. Every individual is also equally responsible. If we are ashamed to pick up a small piece of paper that’s fallen on the roadside just thinking that what would the passerby think. Similarly it might be difficult for one person (our PM) to clean this country but if 120 crore people join hands together we would see a cleaner India within an year and make our Hindustan Saare Jahan Se Acha!
Yours etc…
