Sir,
While it is a matter of pride that the Jammu Railway station has been adjudged as one of the cleanest Railway stations, at the same time we are not inclined to wholly believe the ratings given. Whether it is only the platforms and the track areas of the station or the entire station right from the main gate to the area where luggage scanning is undertaken.
Those who very often visit this most important and equally crowded station must have observed that the auto stand to four wheel taxi stand to the stairs leading to luggage scanning are all littered , with polythene waste bags, plastic used cups, fruit peelings , heaps of dust , garbage etc and it appears that this vast area of the Railway Station belongs to none to take care of even not by the allurement of a commendable certificate.
Tourists especially on pilgrimage tourism frequent this station at least twice and finding the station right from the entrance gate up to the platform very unclean and littered must be carrying back home the worst impression about this station and doubting it to be one of the best stations in the country.
Can the civic as well as the Railway authorities look into this problem.
Yours etc
Rupesh Kumar
