SVO raids house, office of Director

JAMMU, Sept 18: The State Vigilance Organization (SVO), Kashmir today conducted searches at office and residence of Director Rural Development Department, Kashmir, Gazanfar Ali.
Raids were conducted after registration of a case and obtaining search warrant from the Anti-Corruption Court, Srinagar.
An official handout said the case has been registered on the outcome of a Joint Surprise Check conducted by the sleuths of Vigilance Organization, Kashmir into the allegations that Gazanfar had issued a supply order without following codal formalities in favour of particular supplier for providing/fixing hoardings for Baramulla and Kupwara districts.
The Joint Surprise Check had established misappropriation on account of the Government official.
“It has been established that the Government official had caused wrongful loss to the State exchequer to the tune of Rs 13.53 lakh by entering into a conspiracy with the supplier,” the handout said.
