JAMMU, Dec 7: State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has asked for final report in the Preliminary Enquiry under probe with Vigilance Organization against G A Bhat, ex-Director General Fire and Emergency Services.
While taking cognizance of a complaint lodged against G A Bhat, ex-Director General Fire and Emergency Services relating to misuse of official position, misappropriation of Government funds, accumulation of disproportionate assets, besides, illegal appointments, the Commission vide its order dated 24-06-2015 had directed Vigilance Organization to conduct a Preliminary Enquiry.
The Vigilance Organization vide communication dated 26-11-2015 has sought more time for submission of the report in the matter.
While hearing the case, SVC today directed the Vigilance Organization to take a final call in the matter and submit final report by or before December 14, 2015 failing which SSP concerned shall have to appear personally before the Commission on the next date of hearing.
The Commission while reviewing the long pending cases of public importance with the Vigilance Organization has expressed strong displeasure over tardy pace of investigations. The Vigilance Organization has been given time till ending December 2015 to finalize investigation in identified important cases so that the guilty are brought to book and public confidence restored in the anti-corruption bodies.
