NEW DELHI:  Pandemonium prevailed in the Lok Sabha throughout the Question Hour today as Opposition Congress Members rushed to the Well expressing resentment over suspension of their party colleagues and raising slogans.

Amid the slogan shouting, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, however, allowed taking up of Question Hour.  Among others, Congress Members K C Venugopal, K V Thomas, Rajeev Satav, Abhijit Mukherjee and Kantilal Bhuria raised slogans like ‘Speaker Madam Nyay Karo’ and ‘Sarkar ki tanashahi nahi chalegi’. They were soon joined by Trinamool Congress Members including Shatabdi Roy, Saugata Roy and Arpita Ghosh among others.

The Congress Members also frequently raised anti-government slogans referring to farmers’ issue.

However, questions pertaining to the Ministries of Railways, Minority Affairs, Science and Technology and Skill Development were taken up.

On Monday, the Speaker named six Congress Members — Gaurav Gogoi, K Suresh, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Ranjeet Ranjan, Sushmita Dev and M K Raghavan for their unruly behaviour and throwing papers to the table.

The Members automatically stood suspended from the proceedings for the House for five sittings.
