SRINAGAR, Apr 15:  Authorities on Wednesday demolished commercial property belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir as part of the anti-narcotics campaign launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
This is the first incident of property demolition carried out by the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir after the LG launched the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan’ last week.
Officials said shops and other allied constructions belonging to Mukhtar Ahmad were demolished by the authorities this morning.
They said these properties were already attached by the authorities under the NDPS Act earlier this year.
“Not only were these properties raised from proceeds of narcotics trade, these were built on state (Government)  land,” the officials said. (Agencies)
