JAMMU, Mar 16: Administrative Secretary Transport, Neeraj Kumar here today conducted a surprise inspection at road checking Naka established by RTO Jammu team comprising ARTO, Kuldeep Singh; Surinder Kumar, MVI; Jasbir Singh, MVI and Taranjot, MVTA along the National Highway in Raya Morh.
During inspection document verification, vehicle inspections and driver credential checks were held and about 230 vehicles were examined out of which 43 were found violating Motor Vehicles Act rules and these were penalised wherein a total fine of Rs. 2 lakh was collected.
A handout of the Transport Department stated that such inspections not only act as a deterrent against violations but also nurtures stakeholders’ confidence in the effectiveness of regulatory frameworks and enforcement measures, fostering a culture of accountability and safety within the transportation realm.
The Secretary directed for continuation of such initiatives on regular rotation basis.
