JAMMU, Feb 24: BJP Executive Member, Raman Suri, has extended support to RSS leader, Indresh Kumar regarding implementation of Unified Civil Code (UCC) for all citizens of the country, after Kumar made such a statement during a meeting of All India Executive of Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) at Rajghat.
“The decision will ensure justice and equality for all communities, especially, Muslim women,” Suri claimed adding that principle of ‘one country, one constitution, and one justice system’ will extend a single civil code.
He also said that time has come for India to move forward on the path of reform.
“It is essential to discard practices that hinder the development of society and implementation of a single civil code is the right step towards creating a more inclusive society,” the BJP leader maintained adding that UCC will provide equal rights and opportunities to all citizens regardless of their religion or caste.
He emphasized that laws should be designed in a manner that protects and uplifts marginalized groups, especially the women.
Suri reiterated the need to focus on unity, justice and harmony to build a stronger and more prosperous India.
