Surgical strikes fulfilled manifold objectives: Prof Virender

JAMMU, Oct 4: The surgical strikes carried out by Indian Army across the Line of Control on seven launching pads of terrorist groups killing about 50 terrorists is a laudable exercise avenging Uri operation sponsored by Pakistan, said Prof. Virender Gupta, BJP State spokesperson.
In a statement issued here today, he said it was a well planned exercise which fulfilled manifold objectives. While attacking those who raised doubts about the operation he said that no leadership of the country of 1.3 billion population, can risk its credibility and reputation by giving wrong information about the operation. He further said that denial of Pakistan about such like operation conducted by Indian Army across the border can be understood by the fact that Pakistan Government and its army do not want their ego and prestige dented, particularly when its Army chief is due to retire.
Prof. Virender also condemned the statements of the Kashmiri leaders, particularly of Congress and National Conference, who raised their voice for peace on the borders and dialogue between India and Pakistan to resolve Jammu and Kashmir issue, when Indian Army conducted surgical operation across the LoC and argued that such type of action would escalate the tension between the two countries.
He questioned these leaders for their silence against the Pakistan actions of raising proxy war against India through terrorism and keeping the LoC active by violating ceasefire, resorting to heavy mortar shelling and firing. The Spokesperson observed that it looks as if these leaders have more sympathy towards Pakistan instead towards the people on this side of the border and toward the country to which they belong to.
